Introduction

Stephen is a postdoctoral scholar and research scientist currently at Vanderbilt University with a productive research history studying insect chemosensory systems and animal behavior. His research, which has been published in leading peer-reviewed scientific journals, has helped us better understand the role of chemical cues in mediating important insect behaviors, such as aggression in ant societies and disease-transmission in mosquitoes. His discovery of the molecular mechanism regulating aggression in ants was featured on the cover of the Journal of Experimental Biology and subsequently promoted in popular science magazines such as Scientific American.

Stephen has shared his passion for scientific discovery by presenting his research through national conferences and international speaking events. He now looks forward to extending his productive research enterprise as a postdoctoral fellow where he will leverage his expertise in organismal biology, incorporating methods from computational biology to understand collective behavior in complex systems such as the ant colony.
